Independent Reviews of Infectious……hmm brilliant!

Sue Nami - Live Magazine ( US Music Magazine )

"For once the name of an indie album is accurate. Infectious, a self-titled profusion of pop selections is truly infectious. There were so many things I loved about this CD. First of all it's one of the best examples of high quality music on a limited budget. I can buy a major label CD with triple the resources and half the skill in songwriting and production that I find on the Infectious CD. The other thing I loved - this is not an endless trail of songs sounding all the same. Every track seems to take you in another similar yet very unique direction. Lyrically this CD is strong, thought-provoking and honestly insightful; yet they still refrain from bordering on self-indulgent pity. And to top it off both of the singers in this band, Chris Watts and Gordon Gennis sound great. This CD is mellow but just upbeat enough to enjoy in almost any mood. Buy it now on www.warholmusic.com".

“Some CD's are just so damn good, they make reviewing them more of a pleasure than a job. That is the feeling that I got with this band and this music. They are one of those bands that keep your thoughts on the music as it allows your mind to create the imagery. Not many albums have that sort of power over me, but this is one of the few.  It's music like this that makes you stop and look at the world in a whole new light. Most of the songs on this CD are of a mellow nature. Great songwriting and very thoughtful lyrical journeys. This music is nothing short of fantastic".

"A band who are based out of Liverpool in England, Infectious are certainly apart from many bands whose music has come out of that country, relating little to some of the best known bands you might have heard of. What the band do have, is their own interesting style which combines snippets of those better known bands with a more unique feel. There are slower edged numbers like "Celebrity" which really stand out, alongside the wonderful closing number "Something's Got To Give", while I preferred a whole slew of songs through the middle of the album which have more verve, like "Heaven Falls On Me" & my pick, "Everything I Ever Asked". If you want something more than Brit-pop has been able to offer of late, check this band out, they certainly have what you're looking for".

“It's been a while since I had listened to this album for the first time. It brought back a lot of feelings and thoughts that I had, plus a few that I hadn't realized at the time. They have an intelligent pop/rock style that is much like that of Steely Dan and Sting. The musicianship is excellent and the vocals are very warm and sincere. Most of the music is on the mellow adult contemporary side of pop. The first thing that I noticed from this album was the great lyrics. These songs are so well written, I couldn't find one that didn't ooze with true artistic qualities. The emotion and feeling that is portrayed through the music is also very stimulating. Sometimes you need to listen to an album more than a few times in order to get it. This is one of those bands that have that sort of quality. Their appeal may not be something for the mainstream music fans, but to those who like their music presented in a more intelligent and higher quality fashion this is the band that will never fade".

MISH MASH Review (US Music Magazine).  The Mish Mash Review

"With a classic 80s-era pop sound, the band are infectious, jingle-jangling their way into your brain with a special blend of catchy indie rock. It's a moody sound that brings to mind early R.E.M and the Smiths, while adding a touch of mod in the form of the Jam. The songs stand tall and solid, even though the DIY production methods could use a little push here and there, a minor detail that doesn't detract from the overall picture. The band is good with basic rock tunes like Rich Vein and Love Looks Straight Through Me, but they really shine when they go out on a limb. This is evident in the offbeat angst of No More Lonely Cornflakes, which holds its edge without losing the pop hooks. The same could be said of Celebrity, a song that has the feel of early Peter Gabriel, a little bit angry but dripping with brilliant pop. This is a clever little album that took me by surprise. It's a sleeper that doesn't come at you screaming, but leaves you with a desire for repeated listening’s. Only the great ones keep you coming back for more".

"In surfing an "indie webring" wave a few months ago, I came across one of the most tangiable things that I've ever found on the internet. Under normal circumstances, I would have simply surfed on by. However, not to sound like "Ally McBeal", their eyes made me stay. Within a short period, I knew I had found a new band. Mixing a soft edge metallic funk with soft vocals, the band proved that there are still gems left unturned on the web. It's my privilege today to introduce you to one of the best bands I've ever come across. Their self titled album 'Infectious' is from one of the best unknown groups gracing the music scene. "Making quite a rustle in Liverpool England, the noise echoed and will inevitably make an earthquake in the US".

Jounce Kuda on Garageband.com reviewing the debut single ‘Everything I Ever Asked’

"My toes started tapping when this song cranked up, a great guitar intro. The verses and chorus lived up to the guitar intro. This is a professionally crafted song by talented individuals. This is real pop music. Sign these guys now before the weekend! It's Friday and I'm in love with this song! I honestly can hear this hook-laden, energetic sound on my radio while breezing down the road. If I did hear it on the radio, I would go immediately to the music store and buy it".

"I am a HUGE Squeeze fan and I found listening to your music a comparable experience. Why did you pick 'Everything I Ever Asked' as the single?? I think it's a great song. There is definitely someone in the band who is a fan of ABC and Human League ( 'Heaven Falls On Me', Remember the Good Ones' and 'Celebrity' - but I think all the songs are FAB ! ) I've downloaded ALL the tracks onto my handheld pc, and have played them back now at least 20 times. My fave song is 'Infectious' - although I am hugely partial to 'No More Lonely Cornflakes' and 'Darker Than Blue' too. In fact I really like all of them. I'm going to buy the album and you can't get greater praise than that!"

"They are absolutely brilliant. Very reminiscent of that great 80's mellow British sound. I really enjoyed "Everything I Ever Asked" and many of the other songs. Keep up the GREAT work! I would definitely play these guys on my show. Let me know when their CD comes out. I would love to do an e-mail interview with the band once the site is up and post it on the site".
